Author's notes: While there is still a lot of humour in this story, "Swords and Pacifiers" has also a very serious and melancholic undertone. And there is angst. With this series, I began to really dig my teeth into halfway decent writing; SAP is a parallel story to the Magic Rat's "The Gift" and "Last Homely House" - we stuck to certain basic facts and knitted our own stories out of them. I can only recommend her writing, she is outstanding.
